Your privacy
How we collect, use and look after personal information, and what you can do about it.
Last updated 28 July 2026
Who we are
ShareThis.Video is operated by Virtual Innovation Group Limited, a company registered in New Zealand. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Virtual Innovation Group Limited.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Information Privacy Principles it sets out.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Your name, email address, phone number, company name and website.
- Branding you upload for your newsletters and landing pages, such as your logo, header image and headshot.
- Billing details, handled by our payment provider, not by us.
- Anything you send us by email, phone or a form on this site.
Information about the people you contact
If you connect a mailing list or capture enquiries through one of your video landing pages, that information passes through our systems. You remain responsible for that information under the Privacy Act. We hold it on your behalf, we do not use it for our own purposes, and we do not sell it or share it with anyone else.
Information collected automatically
When someone clicks one of your links we record the date, the referring website domain and the country. We deliberately do not store raw IP addresses, browser user agent strings or any cross-site identifier. We do not need them, and holding them would create obligations we would rather avoid.
How we use it
- To give you access to the service and keep your account working.
- To build and send the newsletters and landing pages you create.
- To bill you and keep the records we are required to keep.
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To tell you about changes to the service. We will not add you to marketing lists you did not ask to join.
Where your information is held
Our database and files are hosted with Supabase in Sydney, Australia, and our application runs on Vercel in the same region. Australia has privacy laws comparable to New Zealand’s, and we chose the region deliberately to keep your data close and within a comparable legal framework.
Some of the services we rely on operate internationally. Where information is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected by comparable safeguards, as required by Information Privacy Principle 12.
Who else sees it
We share personal information only with the providers we need to run the service, and only so far as they need it. That currently includes our hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider, our payment provider, and Mailchimp when you choose to connect and export to it.
We do not sell personal information. We will only disclose information where you have asked us to, where it is needed to provide the service, or where the law requires it.
Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure. We do not use advertising cookies or third party tracking pixels on this site. Videos are only loaded from YouTube once you press play, so nothing is requested from them before then.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as you are a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can reactivate your account if you return and meet our record keeping obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will do so unless we are required by law to keep it.
Keeping it secure
Access to customer data is restricted at the database level so that each account can only ever reach its own records. Connections are encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed and never stored in a readable form, and access tokens for connected services are encrypted at rest.
No system is perfect. If we ever suffer a privacy breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as the Privacy Act requires.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask for a copy of it, and to ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email team@virtualinnovation.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change we will tell account holders by email. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
